MBFWI For Me!

Fashion week posts are usually the saddest posts for me. Because there are tons of people that you have the same feeling, same curiosity with. Some of them are friends, some of them are totally strangers. But the curiosity in the face is the same. This time I'm only going to write about my favourite shows instead of writing about each one of them. What are they? Nihan Peker who got inspired by Suzanne Lenglen, Deniz Berdan who took me to my hometown with the horon music at the show and Atıl Kutoğlu who made the best east - west collaboration. They were absolutely fantastic! and you can also watch the videos that I've recorded for you guys on my instagram account!

Fashion week yazıları benim için gerçekten en hüzün veren postlardan biri oluyor. Oraya aynı duygularla aynı merakla gittiğiniz bir sürü insan topluluğu. Kimi arkadaşınız, kimi tamamen yabancı. Fakat suratlarda ki merak aynı. Ben bu sefer her defileyi teker teker ele almak yerine sadece en beğendiğim koleksiyonları ele alacağım. Bunlar neler mi? İlhamını Suzanne Lenglen'den alan Nihan Peker, beni horon müziği ile tamamen memleketime götüren Deniz Berdan ve bence doğu - batı sentezini en iyi gerçekleştiren tasarımcılardan biri olan Atıl Kutoğlu. My Fashion Muse - Istanbul

Bugün şuana kadar bahsettiğim tüm konulardan farklı birşeyden bahsedeceğim. Doğduğum, büyüdüğüm, aşık olduğum şehir... Arkadaşlarımla da bu konudan bahsederken İstanbul'u her zaman tek birşeye benzetmişimdir. Bir kadın... Dışarı yüzünde mutlu, sevecen, kıpır kıpır. Fakat onu deştikçe yani arka sokaklara gittikçe bu kadını bir hüzün kaplıyor... Benim İstanbul tarifim bu :) Değinmek istediğim bir diğer konu ise 'Modada İstanbul'. Açıkcası dışarıdan tasarımlara bakan bir kişi olarak tasarımları acaip batılı buluyorum. Kötü birşey mi ? Hayır. İyi birşey mi ? Yine hayır. Ben her zaman bir orta yolu bulmanın taraftarıyım. Modern bir kesim fakat bizden olan desenler gibi. Biraz gerçekten bunları görmek istiyorum. Ayrıca bir olaya da fena şekilde takmış bulunmaktayım. Bu kadar ilham verici bir şehirde cidden bu kadar küt tasarımlar yapmak nasıl mümkün ? Ben nacizane tasarımcılara sesleniyorum. Şehri bir gezin, tozunu yutun ve tekrar düşünün.. Gerçekten iyi gelecektir...

Today I'm gonna talk about something that I've never talked about. About the city that I was born, raised and in love with... When I talk about İstanbul with my friends. I consider İstanbul as only one thing. A woman... She is very outgoing, happy, hyperactive outside. But when you go deeper she is very sad like backstreets... That's my İstanbul definition :) The other thing that I wanna talk about is 'Fashion In Istanbul'. In the audience, I feel the designs are very western. Is it a bad thing ? No. Is it a good thing ? No again. I always support being in the middle. Like a modern cut but our fabrics and patterns. I really wanna see those. Also ı've been obsessed with a thought nowadays. How does it really possible to design very ordinary outfits in such an inspiring city İstanbul. I call to designers from here. Travel the city, breath the air and think again... It's gonna feel good...
